Missing- is a 2017 chamber opera with a libretto by Marie Clements and music by Brian Current. It interweaves the story of a Missing Indigenous woman and that of a woman invovled in a car crash along Canada’s Highway 16, the highway of tears. This Opera touches on the plight of MMIW, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women by showing two worlds interwoven and what one life could have been. Thousands of women have gone missing or discovered murdered along the highway outside British Columbia.
