This musical is told both backwards and forwards in a couple’s relationship. The character’s timelines only cross once, at their wedding. This is a two person musical, the Director cast two sets of actors and intermixed them for each performance, bringing a new dynamic each night.
I designed the space to reflect a boardwalk, but like an M.C. Echer drawing the boardwalk fed back onto itself. Keeping the characters from ever meeting. The only moment their timelines cross is at their wedding day which was staged in the center playing area.
