Seussical the Musical, is a musical with lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, music by Stephen Flaherty. It is based on the works of Dr. Seuss, with most of its plot drawing from Horton Hears a Who!, Gertrude McFuzz, and Horton Hatches the Egg.
Considering our department draws on a female heavy casting pool we decided too set Seussical inside of a Girl’s private school. The design was based on a centralized foyer of a High School allowing for the high jinx and craziness or Seuss to take place. The central clock became a projection surface for the shows locations as well a for the live camera work centered around The Cat in the Hat.
